We are a team of developers that wanted to make background removing fast, easy, and accessible to everyone. Finally, we created our Automatic Background removal – BgRem! Thanks to our users sharing their experience of processing videos on our website we are growing fast.

Who can benefit from BgRem?
There are three main groups of users that can find the Service extremely valuable for their businesses: bloggers, social media users, video editing amateurs. BgRem is the most efficient for portrait video editing, but not so productive for removing background from videos capturing full-body objects in action.
Is it free to use?
Yes, you may use BgRem free of charge to remove or change the video background in the basic version without registering. Check out more information here.
Which Web Browsers are supported by the Service?
You shouldn't have any problems with our Service if you use any of the modern Web Browsers.

What file formats are supported?
You can upload '.mp4', '.mov', '.ts', '.avi', '.mkv', '.webm', '.mpg' files with a maximum resolution of 1920x1080
How do I keep the original soundtrack?
The original soundtrack remains in both Creator and Pro subscriber clips.
Why the transparent background turns black after I download the video result on my device?
The majority of default programs can't display transparent background. That's why you see black background after the downloading of a video result (while in reality, it is transparent).
Which programs can display transparent background?
OBS Studio program can display transparent background.
How can I choose the quality of my output video?
We propose to choose the quality of the output video before the processing. After you have finished editing and clicked «Continue» button, you will get a screen with various quality options, where you can choose either low/optimal/high quality.
What is the difference between the Low, Optimal, and High quality of the final video?
The bitrate of the Low quality video will be less or equal to 5Mbit/sec. The bitrate of the Optimal quality video will be the same as in the original one. The bitrate of the High quality video will be increased by 20% in comparison to the original one.

Which output video bitrate am I going to get in case I upload 3 Mbit/sec video?

If you choose a low quality option you will get a 3 mbit/sec video, optimal quality option - you will also get a 3 Mbit/sec video, high quality option - 3.6 Mbit/sec video.

Which output video bitrate am I going to get in case I upload 5 Mbit/sec video?

If you choose a low quality option you will get a 5 mbit/sec video, optimal quality option - you will also get a 5 Mbit/sec video, high quality option - 6 Mbit/sec video.

Which output video bitrate am I going to get in case I upload 10 Mbit/sec video?

If you choose a low quality option you will get a 5 mbit/sec video, optimal quality option - 10 Mbit/sec video, high quality option - 12 Mbit/sec video.

Plans and tariffs

What are the limitations of the free version?
There are two types of free versions: for unregistered users and for registered users.
For unregistered users: clip length is up to 10 seconds, no possibility to add your own background, no soundtrack.
For registered users: the maximum clip length is 30 seconds, the audio track is saved, it is possible to add your own background. For more information on the free version features, click here.
What is the difference between the free version and the paid version of BgRem Pro?
While BgRem creator is just a demo version of the Service, BgRem Pro provides:
  • Unlimited length clips (instead of 30 seconds limit);
  • No limit on the number of clips per day and month (instead of 40 clips per month);
  • Priority in editing. Due to that, the modifying of such videos needs less time, and the result is higher in quality.
What is better: pay-as-you-go videos or a Pro subscription?
Pay-as-you-go is a great idea for unpredictable video editing, or when you don't exactly know how many minutes you need to achieve your purpose and you don't want to overpay.
For ongoing video creation or for bigger projects you can save with our Pro subscription. For instance, you can try out our 3 minutes per month tariff to benefit from all the advantages of BgRem Service.
Do you offer a trial for a paid plan?
We don't have a trial for a paid plan, but our free Creator plan provides you with a perfect opportunity to try a Paid version with minor limitations.
Can I process both photos and videos as a Pro user?
Yes, you can.
How much does it cost to process photos as a Pro user?
One photo is equal to 10 seconds of video. The seconds will be deducted from your personal account.
Do you offer enterprise plans?
Yes, if you are looking for enterprise plan, please, write us here and we will come up with a suitable solution for your company.

Subscription process

Do I have to make a prepayment?
Not necessarily. If you cannot predict the length or number of clips, you may use pay-as-you-go.
In other cases, we recommend that you use a subscription. It will help reduce your costs.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit cards.
The card payment does not go through, what should I do?
If the payment does not go through, check the main reasons why the payment may be declined:
  • Invalid card data entered
  • Expired card
  • Credit limit exceeded

If the payment still does not go through, don't hesitate to get in touch with us.
Does the subscription renew automatically?
No, it’s indefinite. The subscription is valid until the minutes run out.

API

What is the price of your API?
We use monthly post-payment system. How it works: payment takes place at the end of the billing period (every 30 days). The Developer plan includes 340 minutes of video processing by default, in case you exceed that number, each additional minute will cost 0.89$/min.

How much will be deducted if I process less than 340 minutes?

In case the number of minutes processed is less than or equal to 340, $300 will be debited from your account at the end of the billing period.

How much will be debited if I process more than 340 minutes?

You will be charged $300+ additional minutes, that will cost 0.89$ per minute.
Can I try your API to check how it works?
Yes. The Trial developer plan provides you with opportunity to try the capabilities of our API for free. It includes the processing of 30 videos with a 30 minutes total duration. The trial period lasts for 14 days.
When does the activation of the plans takes place?
Your subscription is considered active from the moment you receive the API key.
What happens after the end of the Trial plan?
You can continue using the service by subscribing to the Developer plan.
Do you have special platform/system requirements?
No. The API works on any platforms and systems.

What will happen with the minutes I have purchased while having a Pro subscription?
They will remain in your personal account, you can use them at any time. To do this, you need to select the PRO tab in your personal account. What will happen with the minutes I have purchased while having a Pro subscription
Can I unsubscribe from my plan at any time?
You can cancel your monthly subscription. But your plan does require a one-month commitment. That means that the cancellation will be valid from the next month.
